Hi there. This is a new problem that has just started on my machine. Every
time I try to open a program I get a message asking me to install Windows XP
with Front Page. I have no idea why this started to appear. I put my XP disk
in and I get a message saying there is a PROPLUS.msi file missing, or there
is a 1706 error. I reinstalled Windows XP and there was no change. Now I
cannot open any programs other than Explorer and even in explorer I get the
message when I try to open a page. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I tried using the Microsoft online support site and after entering my
product ID was told that I had used up all of my support questions for the
product. I don't understand this because I purchased the Windows XP
professional and installed it straight from the box. Any thoughts here would
be very much appreciated too. Thanks.

ProPlus.Msi is the installer for Microsoft Office Professional. If the
install used "Typical" components you've likely triggered a request
for an uninstalled option. When this happens XP attempts to run the
..Msi so it can install the missing components. Until the request is
satisfied it will continue to prompt you to supply the disk for Office
or direct it to a network install location.
