Help Please!

To All,

I recently noticed that my file association when using IE is incorrect for
WMP files. The setting in "File Types" is correct and Windows Media Player
is the default player when using Explorer, but when playing files on the web
the association is linked to QuickTime.

I have, also, checked the QuickTime settings and they are NOT set to be the
default for WMP. Additionally, I have had QuickTime installed for a long
time and did not make any recent changes to it nor did I download any other
player or make any conscious changes to any settings.

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

Launch QuickTime and from the Toolbar select:
Edit > Preferences > QuickTime Preferences.

Uncheck the box next to "Notify me if other applications
modify these viewer associations". Then click on File Types,
click on the "+" to expand each category, then uncheck all
boxes except for "QuickTime Movie", then click OK.

After clicking OK, then select "Browser Plug-in" from
the drop-down menu, and uncheck every box in that window.

Now exit QuickTime, then launch Windows Media Player
and from the Toolbar select: Tools > Options > File Types,
click on "Select All", then click Apply.
