i have just got a two comps with win xp pro and direct cable connection every thing looks fine but i dont know how to get info from one comp too the other if any one can help me it would help thanks

Run XP's Network Setup Wizard on each computer -- it will do
everything necessary to set up networking between them.
Right-click and share the desired disks and folders on each computer.
Click My Network Places to see the shared disks and folders on the
other computer.
