help please with acces to old harddisk

I hope somebody can help me.

My old system broke down, but I need some files that are on the old
harddisk.

I can hookup my old harddisk with my new system, but ofcourse cannot start
xp or the old outlook from there

1. I protected my system with a user password. How can I bypass that?
2. I need a back up from my old Outlook agenda. How can I do that in this
situation?

Install old HD as slave
Copy data from old hd to new hd.

Do NOT overwrite any existing OL pst file, do NOT use import/export simply
within OL open the pst
You may need to take ownership of files
