Help please re: Application Installation

When I download a theme or anything, and it is finished dowloading, I keep
getting an error msg> (not a valid Win 32 application), Then it wil not let
me install it! I have Windows XP, HP Pavillion. Is there a way around this?
It is so irritating waiting for the download to get finished, and then when
I click on it i can't install it.

Not much you can do if it's not a valid application, other than
download files meant for your operating system. You give no
other details so there's not much help can be given.
