I am screwed.. I'm getting the following on startup and I cant clear it:
The box is labeled :
cli.exe - Bad Image
The application or DLL
C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Frameworkv1.1.4322\MSCORJIT.DLL is not a valid
Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette.

I'm running XP Pro fully updated. All my virus and spychecker are updated.
I tried to do a repair installation but I load the original windows disk it
tells me that the windows on my system is a later version and it wont let me
do a repair..

HELP please.
thanks

Your DotNet Framework is corrupted. Use the Add/Remove applet in
Control Panel (Classic View). Tic/Check "Show Updates", scroll to the
Microsoft section and uninstall DotNet (All versions) reboot and then
reinstall DotNet.
Repair install needs to have the same "Baseline" version of XP. Your XP
is Service Pack patched to a level greater than your CD. To overcome
this you can "Slipstream" Service Pack 2 into a new XP CD-ROM. An
automated tool "AutoStreamer" will help you to create the disk.

thanks very much..
It was a bear trying to delete Net Framework.. For some reason, Windows
wouldnt let me get rid of it.. The add/remove wouldn't allow it. After many
hours working with the registry, of working with the "start run" commands,
of working with system filechecker and, of searching the net for help, I
came across a tool that did a cleanup of Framework and allowed me to finally
delete it and reinstall it correctly.
Also, thanks for the "slipstream" help.. that did it (I did that before
attacking the Framework problem)..
I was able to repair/upgrade the system and things seem to be working fine.

Still one little problem and that is that on startup I get this error:

c:\windows\htpatch.exe
NTVDM cpu has encountered an illegal instruction.
close or ignore

I closed it and the system seems to function properly..

Googling tells me it has something to do with SiS multithreading and
pertains to my graphics card, although I have and am using a Radeon card,
not the built in video on the motherboard.

I found the application in the windows directory and renamed it. The error
does not appear anymore, but the question is am I losing any functionality
without the application?

thanks
