It is a good thing this partition is only imagination - I would tear it down - lol - I have a couple of questions and I am sure I have made a couple of mistakes - First, (sounds crazy) I have about 35,000 MB of free memory - how many GB is that??? - Second, I have a Compaq with a partition between C and D drives - do I want to delete this partition before I use Partition Magic? Finally, I recently upgraded from ME to XP Home - I worked with it for a couple of days and did not like having all my junk from ME there, plus my cd/dvd drives would not read - so I ran a Quick Restore (from Compaq) and it set my system back to factory settings - then I installed XP (new installation) - I am currently staring at a blue screen asking me if I want to create a partition in the unpartitioned space or delete the partition - what should I do??? I have looked all over the help and support but I just can't seem to find the right answers - on drive C:partition 1 - fat 32 - 35,000MB; on drive D:partition 2 - fat 32 <system sav> 2800MB - I also activated my XP before I did the quick restore - will this make a difference? I read an article that explained during activation, hardware is read and when I reinstall XP it might be messed up. I have several questions and need some quidance - is there anyone willing to give me an email address so I can correspond directly???? thank all of ya'll for the support you have given

You may not remove the D partition with an upgrade cd for XP. You would need
a full edition. A workaround is there with an upgrade cd and for those who
do not have a Compaq PC please refrain from answering this thread. My method
will give you the result you want but will take a little more time thats
all.

If you know a buddy with a newer Dell PC with a restore CD...borrow it! Put
cd in and reboot. You will have the option of removing all the partitions
and then reclaiming all drive space to lay out the new set up in one C
partition. Do remember to disconnect all internet connections to prevent
"blaster virus". Do not register this copy of set up either...it will only
act as a "valid OS" for your upgrade version of XP. Now when complete with
Dell set up reboot with your CD...delete the partition and set up XP on the
unpartitioned space and format...not quick one! Let it run! You will now
have all your drive space on one partition and no remnants of ME!! If you
care for a chat via the phone reply back here. Cheers !

actually yes you could remove the D partition...but cannot regain that drive
space on C in this manner...sorry for confusion. The way I described to do
this though gives you all the drive space in one!

yes - I would like to chat by phone - email me a phone number to (e-mail address removed) - I do not know of anyone with a new Dell computer - however, on my blue screen, I have 3 options - 1)to set up windows xp on the selected item 2)to create a partition in the unpartitioned space, 3)to delete the selected partition ~ I am in DOS mode and have been for half the night - I won't go back nor will I go forward until I have an answer - I thank you for answering my question in such a timely manner ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ chiz

NOTE for others reading.... Be sure to fdisk prior to using Dell CD on a
formatted primary FAT32 using 100% space. Have a Win 98 or ME startup disk
ready!!
