help " page cannot be displayed when on line"

me again still cant got to the bottom of my problem running XP IE SP2 done
all the experts said still get CANNOT CONNECT TO WEB SITE massage when i
am on line get this message at the top and sides of web pages i am on i can
still email and surf but half the page is missing can anyone help me im new
at computing
any help in laymans terms please

Well, if you don't tell us what you've tried so far, and how, chances are
you're going to get all the same answers again.

I'm betting it's a firewall issue or corrupted tcp/ip or winsock error. Or
spyware.

SORRY im new at this ive optimized IE i use SP2 firewall checked for
spyware what is tcp/ip or winsock and how do i check it thanks sleepyjoe
 
If you're using the XP firewall, make sure your security settings aren't too
high, and make sure the settings in Internet Explorer aren't set so strict
that they aren't allowing pages to view.

tcp/ip is a protocol; you'll see it in the network setup. Winsock is a
windows file.

It's also possible that something in your networking setup is incorrect.

Or a problem with DNS.

You might want to contact your ISP to see if they can help you.
