HELP!! Outlook Express malfunctioning ...

I used to be able to send JPG files with outlook express but recently
when I attempt to send these formats it shuts outlook down completely.

Is there a setting I'm missing?

This is on a Comcast connection and their support is lame and has not
helped!!
