Help OS Crash

Hello,


Our Os crashed giving us the physical dump stating it couldn't read the
SOFTWARE part of the registry. We tried to do a repair using our repair disk
but still no go. What can we do short of reformatting? Thanks in advance.

John, more info is definitely going to be needed, i.e. the
EXACT error that your getting and the sequence of events
that led up to the crash, and what part of the boot
sequence the crash occurs in.

Right after the splash screen I get the blue screen with the following
msg:

registry could not load the hive (File): systemroot\system32\config\SOFTWARE
or its log or alternate it is corrupt, absent, or not writeable
