after installing the service pack 2, I do now get a login screen for user.

when i go to user accounts in config screen, there is only this one user
(guest)

there is no admin user and I can no do certain things like install some
programs.

how do I remove these users??? or how can I become the admin user (it is my
computer and I am the only one using it)

Problem 2: I have now another shut down screen (more like the windows Me
version)

Hi,

1) Click start/run, type "control userpasswords2" (without the quotes) and
click ok. Uncheck the box requiring a username and password, click apply/ok
and follow the prompts to set up a default logon.

2) Control Panel/Power Options/Advanced, you likely need to enable APM.

this is where the hidden account called 'Administrator' comes in. Boot,
hitting F8 as BIOS info goes to black to get the Menu and take Safe
Mode. That should then at 'Welcome' include an icon for
'Administrator'; if not hit CTL-ALT-DEL twice to get a logon dialog,
enter the explicit name
Administrator
and assume that password is null, so Enter immediately. From that, you
should be able to get to User accounts and create a new user account
with Admin status as a start point. Then look in
C:\Documents and settings
for next level folders named for accounts. If you can find the one for
your old account copy its contents over into the one you have just made
