HELP! No Sound (Code 39)

All of my sound is completely gone. When I go to my [Device Manager > Sound,
Video, and Game Controllers] all my codecs and devices say [Windows cannot
load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or
missing. (Code 39)].

I use a Sound Blaster Audigy, so i uninstalled all my drivers and
reinstalled them brand new from the website. That didn't work. So i moved
it to different PCI slots that didn't work either. So i figured it was
broken, I took it out and enabled my ONboard sound (Audio '97), installed its
drivers and I still get the same error.

I've googled the error and people get the same error for their CD/DVD
drivers. The fix for that is to Delete the UPPER and LOW keys.

I could probally fix it by reformatting but I really don't want to do that.
Can anyone help me out?

Did you have sound before this problem? If you did, you should have
done a System Restore. You can go back up to 90 days.
Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore.
If still no go, check your speakers they may need replacing or
properly connected.

Deleting the upper and lower filter keys is the right fix for your troubles,
fortunatly Doug Knox has provided a registry script that does just that, I
have used this script and it works just fine. Be sure to reboot after you
use it.
Here is the link.
