HELP - No recognition of any new hardware

Hi

I’m running Windows XP service pack 2 and seem to have a problem with
anything I do not have a driver disk fore. Windows installer finds the
hardware, looks for the driver needed, but never finds the driver - not for
anything, not even devices that has been installed earlier on, and it is
driving me crazy.

The problem has been existing since I installed service pack 2 - at least I
think it was then, but now I cant live with it any more.

Yesterday and the whole night I have just updated my BIOS because I thought
that would help but NO. Please anybody – HELP!

It would be helpful is one knew what specific hardware for which
Windows is looking for the driver file. Although there might not be
a cdrom or floppy diskette for this hardware, the driver file might
be associated with the chipset or some other device that is present
on the motherboard. Sometimes, enabling something in the bios can
also trip the new hardware dialog box.
