help...new HDD...trying again...

ok...I'm posting this again because what I was able to
find out from help did nothing for me...just succeeded in
confusing me. I have a little bit of computer knowledge
but am by no means a "guru"...

Right now in my computer as I type this are 2 80GB HDD
The one that has my OS (XP) installed is the master and
the empty one is my slave. What I want to do is to take
EVERYTHING from IDE 0 and move it to IDE 1. I want to
install the current (old) HDD into a different computer
and put XP on it instead of ME.

How do I go about making and EXACT copy of my Master HDD
onto my slave HDD?

Is this a "good" idea, or should I only take the minimum
and necessary (music, photos, etc...) files over?

I tried this BootIT NG someone told me about, and all it
succeeded to do was confuse me. I was looking for more
info (i.e. a help file) and wound up chasing my tail.

Again, all I want to do is find an EASY, "EASY" way to
copy exactly my master HDD to the slave HDD so that I can
re-jumper the current slave to master and remove the HDD
that is the master now for installation into another
system.

Can someone help, in layman's terms...or at least with
DETAILED instructions?

Thanks in advance,

JT

Acronis also has a utility that would do what you're looking for.
