i have been able to get outlook 2003 to handle my e-mail addresses from my
personal web ([email protected]), and aol e-mail accounts, however, it
won't send e-mail as my yahoo account - i've done everything that is
suggested in all the "help" references, but it still doesn't work. any
assistance would be greatly appreciated.

How is MS Outlook 2003 sending email? Through an SMTP server? HTTPMail
server? Who provides the service if it is SMTP? There are several issues
with accessing SMTP servers, and you have provided scant information from
which to offer a solution.

Some providers require authentication to the SMTP server. Sometimes that
means using the entire email address, not just the User ID. Some ISPs block
outbound port 25 connections to SMTP servers other than their own. If you
use an off-ISP server on one of those ISPs, you will only be able to send
email through those servers if they accept connections on some port other
than port 25.

I just can't advise you about which solution will work because I don't know
what your situation is.

I guess one need to have POP3 access in order to configure your mail account
into outlook. Yahoo provides you POP3 account only if you are paying for
that.
Not very sure about this but once I came across the same situation and the
above mentioned info. was provided by almighty google.

Yahoo! in North America (yahoo.com domain) only. I am told that Yahoo! UK
still offers free SMTP/POP3 service (yahoo.co.uk domain), and I have a free
Yahoo! Japan account with SMTP/POP3 service (yahoo.co.jp domain); but I had
to request unblocking of port 25 by SBC Yahoo! (my ISP) because yahoo.co.jp
doesn't, yet, work with port 587 for message submission.
