Help needed please

Hi all,
I have attempted to upgrade my system and run into serious problems and
would like help diagnosing.

I ordered a PCP800 deluxe
an intel 2.8 800Mhz processor
Corsair memory (TX1024-3200CP2)
I already have a Creative GeForce3 Titanium 200
An Enermax EG465P Power Supply. Both the last came from my last system and
worked perfectly.

As is my usual practice, I assembled the motherboard, memory and CPU and
graphic card only, to make sure it posts before connecting drives etc.
Zilch!!!

CPU fan fires up, green LED shows power but no beeps or any other sign of
life.
The board will power down when holding the ATX power on button for 5-6
seconds but no display or other sign of life.
Both ATX connectors are plugged in and I am getting 12v from the four pin
connector.
I thought the board would post even without a CPU by the audible error but
nada.

Any advice would be VERY welcome.

Hi,
Just discovered that the Audible failure test works through the external
speakers.

Now getting a very distorted message that sounds like System Failed CPU
test.

Bad Processor?
