help needed outlook express

For whatever reason my outlook express will not let me delete old e-mail.
Just started this afternoon. Any advise?

You probably have a corrupted Deleted Items folder. Go to
Tools-Options-Maintenanve and click on Store Folder. Select the link in the
box and click on "Copy".
Close OE.

Open Windows Explorer and in the address bar, click paste and you should be
directed to your store folder. Delete the file called "Deleted Items.dbx".
Re-open OE. The file will be rebuilt.

Gordon, Your response was the only one I could find addressing anything about
deleted files so I'm taking a shot with the hope that you can help me. Until
just last week my e-mail was working just fine, but in the last few days all
my e-mail is going directly to the "deleted" file rather than the "in" box.
I already checked my rules, and my blocked senders list as well as my Mcfee
virus and all seemed to be set up correctly. Any idea why this is happening?
