Help Needed: Outlook 2003 hangs

S

Stone Chen

My Outlook 2003 hangs more often than not, especially when sending large
messages. I don't know why that happens. After I close the program with
Task Manager, and try to reopen it, it will hang again during "Loading
Dataset". Neither Outlook XP nor Outlook 2000 behaved this badly. Any
information regarding the problem is appreciated.

BTW, I'm using Windows 2003 Server Enterprise Edition, however, the email
accounts are standard POP3 or SMTP, none are Exchange. I've tried opening a
new PST file but it fails to open, just hangs at "Loading Dataset..."

thanks

Run scanpst.exe to scan your pst-file for errors.

did that, no errors. outlook 2003 for me is very unstable, messages with
attachments cause hungs 99% of the time. feels very much like the problem
outlook 2000 had with long attachment file names.
