Help, my X800 XT is dieing!

I have had problems with my X800 XT card. I made no changes to my
system, but the card has stopped working properly. Normal Windows
operation is very slow, scrolling pages is like a slideshow for
instance. I also cannot run any 3D games, I simply get an error message.

I have tried both 6.4 and 6.3 Catalyst drivers, I have the latest AGP
drivers from VIA, I have AGP fully enabled in the BIOS as well as
hardware acceleration in Display Properties and I have DX9.0c installed.
The Control Center informs me that AGP is on x8 as it has always been.

DxDiag tells me that D3D, AGP and DirectDraw are 'not available' and it
cannot identify the memory I have on the graphics card.

I have tried driver uninstall/reinstall and have even done a full
Windows reinstall to no avail.

I'm on WinXP SP2 with an ABIT AV8 mobo.

Everything woked fine under the current configuration and has stopped
without anything being altered.

What could the problem be?

What could the problem be?

Is the extra power cable still attached? I'd expect it not to work at
all without it, but I've never tried, so I'm not sure what might happen.

Try the system with a diffrent AGP card. If fixed, RMA video card. If not,
it is bad motherboard.

Add checking power supply voltages to the list.

I hate PCs sometimes, it's just randomly decided to work again after I
turned AGP on and off again in the Control Center.

Thanks for the suggestions though guys!

for sure was a software issue, no way hardware. the card is fine,
the vgart and ati drivers are very particular, must be installed in
correct order. did you do a clean install or just reload windows ?
