Help, my computer crashed

My computer would not boot, it got stuck while verifying DMI Pool data..... I
was able to install a different 2G hard drive and install XP, thru this new
install with my good 40G hard drive as slave, I am able to access it thru My
Computer. I copied off some files that were on my desktop and documents
files, but I am not able to open any programs to access and backup my current
files. I am not familiar with system restore, how can I do this to my slave
drive? Any ideas?

You may not be able to do what you want without installing the programs to
your current working drive (the one with the working OS). You can try
remapping the
programs to the older drive and see if that work. The problem is that
because you
added another disk it most likely changes your drive letters and now your
shortcuts
are allwrong.
