Help my 2 yr old w/Win98 Underwater screen saver

Stewart Wetzel

My 2-year old daughter is very attached to the Windows
98 "Underwater" screen saver on my old computer, but I
have been unable to move or copy this screen saver to my
new computer that uses Windows XP. Could someone please
tell me how to do this. I have tried copying
the "Underwater.scr" file from Win98 to the new computer,
but this doesn't work. You get a black screen only. Any
help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Stewart,

Not being a user of screensavers, I haven't tried to move any old ones.

However, I see an underwater screensaver picture shown on the back of the MS
Plus! for Windows XP (Sku # V03-00021) that should be available at most
computer stores for cheap money. Check out
http://www.microsoft.com/Windows/plus/windowsxp/SS.htm for a picture of the
screensaver.

I like the Win98 Travel theme very much, nice sounds and mouse
pointers. While I hope there's some simpler answer, I used the XP
Search area to identify all instances of Travel inside the Win98 disk.
This pointed me towards particular cab files, and I was able to copy
them out into a folder. Desktop Architect (freeware) seems able to
load it, or, anyway, I was able to put the train station on my
desktop... the computer is new and I haven't really had much chance to
experiment. Make sure you get the file that will likely be called
Underwater (high color).Theme.
