Help, monitor won't display

I only have one monitor...Acer 21" wide. It worked excellently until today.
Suddenly when I start up windows, it all goes black. It will display in Safe
Mode, but not in regular start up. Nothing has been added or removed from
this computer...nothing was done at all. So I can't fix something when I
don't know what caused it. Please help...Thanks, Francie

Since it works in Safe Mode, but not in regular mode - I'd have to suspect
the video drivers for your system. Visit the website of the manufacturer of
your graphics card/chipset to download and install the latest, Vista
compatible video drivers.
