My sister downloaded this malware on accident. i tried to clean up and well i
totally DELETED AN IMPORTANT FILE in C: WINDOWS/system32 and well it's
making my aol instant messenger funny and I CAN'T INSTALL ANYTHING. so please
can someone tell me if there's a place where i can cross reference a bunch of
system32 files so i can DOWNLOAD THE MISSING FILE and get everything back to
new. But the worst of it is that the malware is popping up constantly and
it's one of those complicated malware that you need to dowload special
programs and follow special instructions to delete

Why don't you start by telling us what "important file" was downloaded.

Also tell us what malware "is poppng up constantly."

Maybe your best bet is to start from scratch,
You should have an XP CD.
Boot into your BIOS and set the CD drive to boot before the hard drive does.
Install the XP CD and reboot.
Watch the screen closely to press any key to boot the CD drive.
Click to install XP and in the following screens,
Delete all Partitions to clean out your hard drive.
Create new partitions and format them in NTFS.
Install XP.

That's a very extreme reaction, especially since em23 hasn't even really
told us anything about what the problem is yet.

Reinstallation is a drastic measure that is occasionally, but very seldom
warranted. Whether it is in this case, I don't know yet, but I very much
doubt it. Almost certainly far simpler methods of fixing the problem are
available.

well i don't know what file i deleted that's why i kinda want like something
where i can find out what i deleted. I needed to fix it as fast as i could
and ended up making it even worse. :-[ and the malware is like this spyware
quake. and it's annoying i solved the continuous pop up problem by scanning
my computer with this anti-malware software. but the spyware quake is still
in my computer.

Try clicking on start, run, tpye in SFC /SCANNOW
it will replace most files that are necessary for Windows to run.
You need to make sure you have a good Anti-Virus installed and updated.
(AVG 7.1 free version, free download)) or a comparable anti-virus.
