Help me plz, slooow logon.

At startup my applying personal settings message takes an awfully long time to load. I had the same problem with Saving your settings on logoff but i fixed it by editing it in gpedit.msc. I went to start>run>gpedit.msc>Comp. Config.>Admin Temp.>System>Logon and I edited the Max. retries to unload.. i enabled it and set it to 3. Can i do the same thing with The Logon? Ive tried without success. thanks

Are you a network user or is this just personal use at
home?

If it's on a network, chances are that you may be trying
to pull a large roaming user profile off of a server and
possibly over a slow WAN link and that is causing the long
load/shutdown times.
