Help...Major IE Broswer Trouble

D

David Lincoln

I'm using 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519

Here's the deal, I had been using Juno V 7.0 with Speedband for over a year.
Well, long story short, Speedband sucks, so I installed Earthlink then the
trouble ensued. I can get connected online, but not view any websites. I
uninstalled Juno then re-installed it, no change. I can access newsgroups
(obviously) but not view any websites. I can use AOL Instant Messenger, but
not view any websites (starting to get the picture?) I have tried going to
Internet Options, deleted cookies, deleted files, checked LAN settings,
checked the proxy settings etc.. all advice from Juno & Earthlink Tech
support. I even tried installing Mozilla and Netscape thinking they may work
since they are a different browser. Neither worked, Mozilla does the same as
IE (acts like it will download then timeout.) and Netscape didn't even load.
I've done scf /scannow, I've pinged addresses and info goes through fine.

I'm getting to the end of my rope, and I don't really want to reinstall
windows cause I have so much crap to backup without a burner. Any got any
suggestions?

Assuming Juno Speedband
(http://account.juno.com/s/landing?action=viewProduct&productId=iso-acc-monthly)
is causing the problem, would that you'd uninstalled it before installing
the Earthlink software (which, assuming it's dial-up, you didn't need to
do).

Try this:

1. Uninstall Earthlink via Add/Remove Programs and reboot.

2. Uninstall Juno Speedband and reboot. (If you've since uninstalled it
again, reinstall & uninstall.)

3. Reinstall Earthlink (or simply use Dial Up Networking).
