HELP! "lsass.exe not enough quota" Error. Can't Get Into XP!

I don't know how this happened. I have the latest Norton Internet Security,
Firewall, Virus Protection etc. and I run them all the time.

I've been avoiding installing SP2 for Windows XP Home for over a year. I
got an XBOX 360 and needed to update XP to SP2 to take advantage of some
functionalities... now I'm screwed.

The Service Pack didn't install correctly and at the end it said it was
going to restore itself to where it was before the install started. Problem
is, now the computer is stuck in a infinite booting loops. I get through to
the Window start up screen and then the screen goes black and then the system
restarts. It will keep doing this until I shut it off or kick it really hard.

I've tried to boot in Safe Mode and I did a full repair on the OS but I
still can't get into Windows and the Booting loop.

I keep getting these errors ... lsass.exe not enough quota etc. Then the
computer reboots. I did a google search and there's some argument over what
it is, but many seem to think it's got to do with the Sasser Worm. All the
fixes seem to involve running a program etc... but how the am I supposed to
do that when I can't get into the OS?!?!?

Does anyone have any clue here? I know I have to replace this PC pretty
soon, but I can't do it right now and I don't want to lose all of the data on
that drive.... and if it is a worm, I can't risk hooking it up to a new
system.

Help!!

hi, if you can get into safe mode try by 1st disabling norton's as nortons on
reinstall is known to protect the system and can keep it from booting
properly. then on another system if you have the (sasser worm) get/load the
removal tools from nortons site or microsoft site and run them on the
infected system. if this doesn't work maybe someone else has a better idea. I
do know tho nortons causes looping and i would start there. also if you can
get into add and remove programs look for sp2 and remove it, if it's not
showing, at top of screen theres a check box check it to show all downloads.
Hope this helps.
