HELP! Lost term paper?!

A

Al

Was typing paper all day, and I had a number of bars
full. Windows said word was full and closed down. All
other documents were renewed except the most important
paper. Document will not be recovered, any advice?????

Al - this would more likely get a knowledgable response in one of the groups
whose names begin with:

microsoft.public.word

Look in the folder where it usually saves things and see
if you can find a file with a ~ in front of the name and a
date about the same time as your crash. Open it with Word.

Hi Al,
Check the Word NG for this. Meanwhile I would do a search for the file name,
and also look in your temp folder for a file of any name from about that
time.

WORD has an auto-save function, it should have saved all but
the last 10 minutes to a backup file. BTW, this isn't the
correct newsgroup, you should use msnew.microsoft.com and a
public OFFICE or WORD group.
