For future reference, *NEVER* store critical data of any kind on a floppy.
They are notorious for dying a quick death, as you have noticed. Floppies
were never a reliable medium to begin with. You should be archiving your
photos to a CD-R. With the super low prices on CD-R drives, it makes no
sense to be using floppies. I have seen CD-R drives that were *Free* after
manufacturer rebate.
I am a pro photographer and I would take the card to Samy's that performs
miracles for me. Data recovery on a scan card is something I have never had.
