HELP LOST FILE ON USB!!!

cOULD SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!! I was working on a word doc and went to save
it on my usb mini cruzer when it wouldn't let me and said something about
having an invalid password. Then it wouldn't even let me save to to my c
drive. So I pulled out the cruzer (it was supposedly on the safe to do so
setting) and then re--plugged it in. AND NOW I CAN'T FIND IT ANYWHERE ON MY
COMPUTER OR CRUZER!!!!! When I look under my recent documents the name of the
document still appears but upon clicking on it, it says something along the
lines that the shortcut has been altered. Can anyone help; I need this
document, it is extremely important!!!! I've tried the help on my computer
but it's useless!!!
