Help logging in, please!

Whenever I turn on the computer the Windows Welcome screen appears and list
the accounts that are on my computer.
When I try to click on one of the accounts, it says logging off and
restarts. Does anyone know why this is happening? I can log in while in
safe mode with no problems. There are no passwords on my accounts and I am
not connected to any network.
Thank You in advance.

What other information is needed.
It is Win XP Home (not OEM). Safe mode works, but not regular Windows. I
attempt click on username to log on, then it says logging off... and goes
back to log on screen. I attempted system restore to go back to point before
this happened. No Luck. System is a stand alone computer not connected to
any network, so there shouldn't be any issues with that. The user name does
not have a password. I have attempted to delete and recreate the account
while in safe mode. No Luck. Account has Admin priveliges. Guest account is
turned off. Have tried with multiple accounts on computer and just single
account. No Luck. I would appreciate any help with this. Any other
information I would be glad to provide. Thank You.

There are several worms and Trojans that may cause this type of behavior.
The fact that you can log in in safe mode implies that it is cause by some
process/program loading in a normal boot. Have you scanned with an up to
date antivirus program and spyware scanners? You might try, while in safe
mode, running msconfig for a selective startup without loading startup
programs and rebooting. If that lets you do a normal boot, you might use
selective startups to zero in on the problem.

You are probably trying to log on to another account without logginng
off one account before logging on to another.

As GTS noted:

1. What is running in the background:

Windows XP Startup Programs Tracker

Belarc: For a detailed list of all installed software:

In the Software Versions section you'll see all of your installed software.
At the end of each entry is a clickable asterisk that will take you to the
folder the software is installed in.

2. Is your system clean?

Run Ad-Aware SE, Spybot and HijackThis:

Note: Update the first two programs, once installed, before running.

4. By default when WinXP encounters a system failure, it reboots without
warning. The setting that controls this can be changed:

Control Panel/System/Advanced/Settings (Startup & Recovery)/System
Failure/Uncheck-Automatically Restart.

You can use Event Viewer to view and manage the event logs, gather
information about hardware and software problems, and monitor Windows
security events.

To view the event log: Administrative Tools/Event Viewer or
Start/Run/eventvwr.

To review Shutdown Event Tracker data, Open Event Viewer. Click System Log,
scroll to the Event column, and find entries with the number 1075.

And also:

Go to Start/Run/Msinfo32/Hardware Resources, Components/Problem Devices and
Software Environment/Windows Error Reporting.

Go to Help and Support/Pick a Task (left side)/Use Tools to view.../(left
pane)My Computer Information/(right pane)View the status of my system
hardware and software/Hardware/Update and Troubleshooters.

Try running the DirectX Tool: Start/Run/Dxdiag, Lower Hardware Acceleration
(Display/Settings/Advanced/Troubleshoot/Hardware Acceleration). Check
System Info for problematic issues: Start/Run/Msinfo32/Hardware Resources
and Components/Problem Devices and Software Environment/Windows Error
Reporting.

Good luck and keep us posted.

No. I have logged off all accounts. In fact I have deleted all accounts
except one. It still won't let me log in
