Hey folks -- anyone really know how to handle Error
1607? Been researching on the net about InstallShield
and it says an updated version should have come with my
XP computer but when I searched around some of the things
I should find weren't there. Such as:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\InstallShield

I can't find the "InstallShield" folder, so I guess I
don't actually have it. I want to make sure that I have
the proper version working and running because I cannot
install any program --such as IPOD stuff.

Thanks

SFC - System File Checker - (SFC /Scannow

Insert WinXP reinstallation dis
Go to: Staft/run/type sfc /scannow and click O
This will cause WinXP to scan your system files for corrupt and/or missing files and replace them
This should correct your problem.

The folder should be in C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\

The only way I was able to fix the problem on my machine was a fresh install
of XP. I tried all the other tricks suggested as well.
