2) my dad and i are working on this together, on my computer(the main builder) it all works fine, but on his in the PREVIEW pane, the buttons on the left(made using the "link properties" thing) dont work for him...they work when u press CTRL left click in the design thing, but never otherwise :

drag the "child" pages from the folder pane to underneath the houseplans
index page.

he may have a different operating system or different internet explorer/
updates. regardless, "preview" pane isn't really where it's at. you should
always preview with file/ preview in browser or the preview in browser
button on the top toolbar.

Don't know if I got the drift, but to re-locate a nav, just drag and drop
to insert a new nav, drag an drop with folder view open.

when you drag the pages around in Navigation View connecting lines will appear - do it kinda slowly and they will automatically connect to the momma page.

the confusing part is when you create your nav bars...if you set them for Child Under Home or Same Level (or whatever)...you may not be able to get exactly what you want unless you create two or more nav bars in the same column - depends on what you want the page nav to show. You really gotta play around with those two things.

| ok, cool...any ideas on the navigation thing? i am totally stuck :(

more detail on your question is needed for an answer. ;-)
you'd generally just switch to nav. view and do as I recommended in the
previous post.

ok, i want something lik

HAVE inde

have house plan

want house
hav

page, but i cannot get it below the house plans i try dragging it, but i cannot get it to go below house plans

**ok, keep in mind it doesn't work like you would think it should

for now delete all of them except for the index page....it will prompt you to delete completely or just from Navigation...choose just from Navigation.

Now click on the yellow index page...right click...add new Existing page...browse to the name of the page you want to connect...ok.

Then doo the same thing for House A, House B pages etc.

| ok, i want something like
|
| HAVE index
| |
| have house plans
| |
| want house A
| have
| a
| page, but i cannot get it below the house plans i try dragging it, but i cannot get it to go below house plans

btw it's easier in Navigation, rather than in Navigation Pane.

I hope I explained that clearly before...
Index...right click add new page from existing...Add House Plans...then right click on House Plans...add new page from existing...add House A...click on House A to add house B.

that's the only way. navigation pane never made sense to me. I wouldn't
waste space where the very valuable "folders pane" could be. ;-)

ahha, i figured itout... i names it "house plans" not "house plans.htm" so it didnt recognize it ro something...thanks a million you guys!!! :)

awesome, that works BUT i cannot add a page to the "house plans" one... it has a red circle with a line thru it like on the no smoking things in airplanes... what's that all about??? i think that is why it wont let me add one to the house plans thing...

double click it to open the page it represents. see if there's something
wrong with the page.
