Help! I uninstalled some vital stuff... rookie!

I was advised by McAfee to uninstall some programs to fix my security system.
I told them I had some called "Windows Hotfix" that I did not understand.
They said I should get rid of them. I started, and deleted about 10 then
discovered that at least one of them was related to my printer and now it
says I do not have the resources to add a printer. Dumb! I did not (of
course) write down the numbers of the hotfixes I deleted. Is there anything
I can do myself or am I going to have to pay the exorbitant Microsoft support
fees to restore what I ruined?

First, this is a newsgroup about Microsoft Access, which is a database
product. Aside from that, it has little to do with "access". We don't
speak much here that does not concern database issues.

Second, in contrast to the first, but hoping this will actually help
you, you could pay a visit to http://update.microsoft.com and see if it
helps you remedy your otherwise FUBAR situation. Alternatively you could
try reinstalling Windows, using the repair option. Additionally, from a
personal slant, ditch McA. There are excellent options, including free
ones.

Thank you for replying. I apologize for posting my question on an
inappropriate site. I did, however, what you suggested and keep getting a
message about "the procedure entry point Load Driver With Version could not
be located in the dynamic link library SPOOLSS.DLL" This might as well be
written in Chinese, for all the sense it makes to me. What thread would you
suggest I post further questions on?

There is NO thread on the microsoft.public.access newsgroup (the first
one alphabetically on Microsoft's website) which would be appropriate.
The web page can be confusing! Depending on how you're connecting to
it, there should be a list of "newsgroups" - broad subject areas - on
the left or bottom of the screen. This newsgroup happens to be on top,
but that's just because the name of the program (Access) happens to be
early in the alphabet, not because this group is for "computer
access".

Scroll down the list of subjects and find one for your version of
Windows - there are groups for WindowsXP, XP Home, 2000, etc.
