Well, I thought I knew what I was doing, but I so obviously did not. I
sustained an injury and was going to try to set up my notebook where I could
still work while sitting in the living room in my recliner which supported my
leg. I closed outlook on my desktop machine, shared the folder containing
the PST file, and started up my notebook. I connected to the PST file on my
desktop machine. It looked at first like it had been completely successful.
EXCEPT, many of the rules wouldn't work, when I staretd a new e-mail, it
couldn't see the Contacts, and when I did send an e-mail, it never went
anywhere. I looked at several things, fixed some of the rules, and in
frustration shut it down. I came back to my desktop unit, and it had some of
the same problems, even though it was working fine before.
I think I have everything resolved (rules, contacts, etc) except for two
issues. Before this monumental screwup, I could right click on the Junk
E-Mail folder, and there was an item on the right click menu that said "Empty
Junk E-mail", and it did just that. That option is no longer available. I
have to manually select them all and delete them. If I'm in UnRead Mail,
then it just transfers them as unread to the Deleted Items folder and show
them to me again. It never did that before. How can I get it back to
working the way it was?????
Thanks so much. And if someone can point me to a Knowledge base or other
article for how to connect to the PST remotely and not screw everything up,
I'd appreciate that, too.
Oh, and I'm using Outlook 2003, if that matters.
Thanks!!!!
