HELP!!!! I cant get into gpedit.msc

I need to get back into gpedit urgently. I was trying to take a short cut to allow administrators to have full access whilst normal users had a policy in place. I went into the properties of the Group Policy folder within System 32 and denied read access to administrators. I thought this was the solution to my security problem.

How can I regain access to both the folder and gpedit. I have tried using a restore point but this hasn't helped.

Any ideas :((

I have been able to access the folder by going into safe mode and changing the permisisions back to they way they should be but I am still unable to get into gpedit.msc either as the local admin account or as myself which is set as a admin account. I have tried changing the permissions on the file itself but that has made no difference either.

I really would appreciate any feedback as to how I can get back into group policies.

Many thanks
