Help for PPT, Delay between audio and video

For a project due Friday I did a powerpoint. I recorded
audio in sound recorder, and inserted it into the
powerpoint by playing it as a sound during the slide
transition. MY problem is that there is a delay between
the slide transition and the audio's playing. in some of
the later slides, this is upwards of 20 seconds. Is there
anything I can do that might speed up my computer, and
solve the problem. i have already cut as much from the
presentation as i can.
