help! everything's huge and only in 16 colors

i had to reformat my c drive due to the damn win32: parite
virus... i just reloaded windows 2000 but it is only
allowing for me to have 16 colors and 640 by 480 pixel
display... everything is basically huge and boring. is
there a driver i need to download? if so, from where?
pleeease help... i want my computer back!

Jarrett, I don’t know if you have done this or not. Go to your
desktop, and right mouse click, and then in the window that shows up,
go to the settings tab, and change the resolution.

..........go to the settings tab, and change the resolution.

And if it won't allow you to change it you'll more than likely need to
discover the brand and model of your craphics card and download a driver
for it from the makers website. This "problem" should have been expected
with a format and reinstall.

I've done the settings readjustment... but when it
says "these settings will readjust in 15 seconds blah blah
blah" it doesn't actually do anything... it stays 640 by
480... i've been to the compaq website- i have a presario
1800T, and tried downloading a video driver from there,
but it doesn't seem to be working. not sure what i'm doing
wrong... help...

Windows Update might have a driver package for you. You can also try the
ATI site.

You have to find out what kind of video card is in your
computer. Go to the computer manufacturers website and
download the driver. Mine was a compaq and I had to give
them the serial number etc. and they told me which driver
to use. It fixed the problem right away.

The driver might be on an original cd/floppy that came
with your computer.
