Windows XP HELP!..Error message on O.E...unable to poll....

Please HELP!!!
My O.Express has suddenly stopped opening......
The following 2 messages pop up when trying to connect to it ;-

Unable to poll for new messages on your HTTP server. Account: 'Hotmail', Server: 'http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp', Protocol: HTTPMail, Server Response: '', Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 12007, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D

Header download for the 'Inbox' folder did not complete. Account: 'Hotmail', Server: 'http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp', Protocol: HTTPMail, Server Response: '', Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 12007, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D

-My PC is a Pentium 4 Dell
-I a have a broadband service and modem with Pipex
-antivirus: Avast
-Firewall: Comodo
-Antispyware: SuperAntispyware

Any help would be much appreciated.....

the instructions and suggestions that your link gives, seem to be done already on my settings....
so no progress made as yet.....
