Help: Drives Are Only Partly Seen

D

Darren Harris

So far I've spent 50-60 hours on this @#$%! Dell system attempting to
add another hard drive, and get it working properly, and I'm still not
there.

I have two Fujitsu 6.4Gb drives in the system, but my "C" and "D"
drives only show up as a 3.99Gb and a 6.01Gb respectively.

I've tried every Fdisk option except deleting the partition.

Before I do and have to re-install Win98(SE) again, does anyone have
any advice? I just want those two drives to be seen completely.

Thanks a lot.

6,400,000,000/1024/1024/1024 is about 6.

Fdisk /status will probably show free space on the first drive.

I don't know what you mean by "Fdisk /status", but after choosing
option #4, which is "Display Partition Information" on the FDISK
Options" screen, I get the following:
---------- ---------- ---------- ----------
Current fixed disk drive: 1

Partition Status Type Volume Label Mbytes System Usage
C: 1 A PRI DOS 6173 FAT32 100%

Total disk space is 6173 Mbytes (1 Mbyte = 1048576 bytes)
---------- ---------- ---------- ----------

In the BIOS(A04) I get the same info for both drives:

Type Cyls Hds Pre LZ Sec Size
Auto 788 255 -1 788 63 6481

Thanks.
