Help/Directions

C.

Looking for help/directions on a recurring problem.

My Norton Personal Firewall issues an ALERT several times a day,
stating that "C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe" is trying to connect
to IP 210.5.22.20.

I've looked up that IP and it is in China! Obviously something
resides on my computer that is triggering this action through the
Windows XP file, svchost.exe, but so far I have been unable to track
it down. Virus scans with the latest Norton's virus updates show
nothing as do scans for adware and spyware.

Looking for guidance about how I can track these requests from
svchost.exe back to the underlying source. Alternatively if there is
a better place to go to pose the question and request assistance,
would appreciate directions.

Thanks,
C.

I had a problem with a downloaded htm file it was in my temporary internet
cache. It was not virus related or spyware related nor do I know how I
picked it up.
Once I emptied it the temporary internet cache, I was back to normal. Hope
this assists.
