HELP! Dialer problem - I think

A friend of mine appears to have a dialer on his system.

Normally, he has two dial-up settings, but a third keeps apearing called
"Check"

It can be deleted, but reapears at regular intervals.

What is this? how can he delete it?


Any help would be gratly appreciated...

If it is a dialer then you should install, update and run AdAware and/or
spybot and/or spysweeper, then install spyBlaster. The first three
should remove it while the last one should prevent it coming back.

I believe that AdAware, Spybot and SpyBlaster are all installed. Spybot
reports a DSO exploit problem, apparently fixes it but it still keeps coming
back.

What does Spysweeper do which the others don't?
