Check the Display settings in Control Panel. Most PCs nowadays have
video card drivers that allow you to rotate the display 90, 270 and
360 degrees. Without make/model of laptop/video card, we can only
give you general methods of changing this.

thanks for your advice but I've searched everywhere and I can't find anything

Then you should have posted the make/model so we could look up the solution.

Try this: Press Ctrl/Up-cursor or Ctrl/Shift/R

thanks joe :)
tried it but neither worked.
I have a dell inspiron 1300 if that makes any difference x

Do you mean the entire desktop or just the Taskbar (with its Start button,
Quicklaunch buttons, and System Tray)?

Paul

It wa the entire desktop but i've managed to fix now! Thanx for your help
anyway :) someones else told me to try a combination of ctrl/alt/shift/arrow
keys and one of them worked. Think someone else who was using my pc has hit a
wrong key when they were using the shortcut to the task manager.
Thanx to everyone for there help xx
