HELP!!! I just fired up OULTLOOK 2003 Pro (using Windows XP Home) and
my data base of past eMails in gone. 5 years worth of eMails simply
not there. Please tell me it is possible to restore the database. I
have tried "System Restore" and "Detect and Repair" and neither
worked. Anyone have any hints for me?

Got backups?
Where was this data - in a separate PST file from the one you use as your
main PST file?
Did you search for *.pst?

System restore doesn't help you in situations like this - nor detect &
repair. You should do regular backups of all data you care about.

As it turns out, the files were just moved to the ARCHIVE FOLDERS.
Nice feature when you know about it.

Doh...I should have asked whether you had autoarchive enabled <smacks head>

Actually, I really dislike autoarchive. I have had too many users "lose"
data, sometimes irretrievably, when using it - I always disable autoarchive
when setting up a mail profile. You may find it better to manage your PST
size yourself by creating a new PST in the location of your choice, opening
it in Outlook, and manually dragging old items therein.
