help could this be a virus?!!

Cannot get into Windows Explorer nor Internet Explorer,
nor Control panel. Just get same message " explorer.exe
has generated errors and will be terminated. Any clues?
Any suggestions? Please help?! Thank you so much.

I got no tasks on the taskbar..could this be a virus too. The tasks are open
just not showing up as icons on the windows 2000 start bar
