Help Copy Paste undoes super and subscripting

I have lots of formulas with super and subscripts and everytime I copy and
paste them (within the same presentation) all the subscrpts and superscripts
get lost and I have to redo them one at a time. It really wears on me.

Which version of PowerPoint are you using? I don't have any problem in
either 2003, or 2007.

Do you see a paste option button when you paste? Depending where you copy
from and paste to sometimes the default seems to be to "follow design
template" (and lose the super / sub script) If you can see it try choosing
keep source format if not in 2003 it can be turned on in tools > options >
edit. I think its the same in XP

Thanks, I'm using 2003. I see that if I use Paste Special (off the edit
menu item) and select Formatted Text I'm OK. It'd be nice if I didn't have
to do that every time I cut and pasted. The Paste Special dialog shows the
first/selected option as HTML Format so perhaps that's what it's pasting out
(using just normal Paste).
I don't say a "paste option" button.

It seems that when
