Dear Folks,

I have been trying to consolidate the management of all my email accounts,
including hotmail accounts and the non-hotmail ones, using Outlook XP 2002.
Ideally, I would like to receive all my incoming e-mail (to all the
accounts) in my Personal Folder's Inbox folder. In the same fashion, I would
like to deposit all the email messages I send (from all the accounts) in my
Personal Folder's Sent Items folder

Problems and Questions (2 problems, 3 questions) :

P - I. After failing to set up access for my second hotmail email account, I
found a Microsoft Knowledge Base article (# 325114, previously published
under Q325114) indicating that "Outlook 2002 supports only one Hotmail
service per profile", and it produces an error ("a connection to the server
could not be established") when you try to add and configure more than one
Hotmail account.
Q - 1) Is there a workaround or has there been any change since the article
was published (7/24/2002)?
Q - 2) If the answer to Q1 is no, does the newest version of Outlook has the
same limitation with regard to allowing more than one hotmail email account?

P - II. - I the past I have received email from a POP (non-hotmail) account
in my Personal Folder's Inbox folder, and my hotmail email from my first
hotmail account in a separate Hotmail folder. I been trying to receive my
hotmail incoming email also in my Personal Folder's Inbox, but I have not
found a way to do it. I know hot to eliminate the Hotmail folder but I don't
want to do it until I start getting my hotmail email in the Personal Folder'
s Inbox.
Q - 1) Please, let me know how can I receive my hotmail incoming email in my
Personal Folder's Inbox, along with all the email I receive from other
accounts.

Thank you for your help.

No. Some people have been able to get more than one Hotmail account to
work in Outlook 2002 but not many, as I understand it. No one has been
able to tell why some people can and most people cannot. I think it
has to do with the way Outlook has been upgraded from version to
version, but I'm no expert.
Q - 2) If the answer to Q1 is no, does the newest version of Outlook has the

I'm one of the few who have two Hotmail accounts working well in
Outlook 2002. I have Outlook 2003 on my notebook and I have no problem
there, either. I believe Microsoft supports more than one Hotmail
account in Outlook 2003, not so in Outlook 2002, as you have found.
Q - 1) Please, let me know how can I receive my hotmail incoming email in my

You can't. Hotmail account mail is kept in separate folders in all
versions of Outlook, AFAIK.
