Help! Comp. logs me off over and over after start-up.

Hello,

I turn the power on on my computer, and watch as it begins to start up,
then, I see a quick flash of my desktop picture, and then the blue windows xp
sign in screen appears. I click on my account name and little picture, then
my desktop flashes for about a half second, then the blue screen almost
instantly appears saying "logging off". I click on my name again, or on the
guest account and the same thing happens over and over. As soon as I sign
on, it instantly logs me off to where I cant access anything.

I have been able to use the comp. in safe mode and get onto the internet.
I tried running my spycatcher program, and it didnt do anything. I also ran
an online virus check by symantec, because I cant use my PC Cillin program
while in safe mode. It gives me some type of error message. Please Help!
Thank You

Tried a different account?
Don't have one?
Create one in safe mode, reboot normally and try logging in as that new
user.
