cd's can be a tricky at
first.
however, you should make sure
that your cd device is connected
securely inside your pc.
if by chance the cables are loose and
wobbly, then your cd device
may be experiencing some power
interruption from the powersupply
and the motor to the drawer may
be dysfunctional - intermittently.
another thing to "KEEP IN MIND", is
that "ejecting" a cd disk will "burn"
it.
therefore do not put a blank cd disk
into the device, unless you have files
ready to be written and burned onto
the cd.
with regular cd-r devices, if you do
put a blank cd into the cd burner
ejecting it without transferring
data can burn the cd and make it
unusable. so what might help
to preserve a blank cd when it
is ejected is to find the feature
"eject to burn" and disable it.
take note that windows is designed to let
you prepare the files you want
written to the cd disk before they
actually get transferred and burned
onto the cd disk.
you should take advantage of
this feature.
another option is to buy
a cd re-writable device.
