HELP CD ROM Drives Disapeared in Windows

My CD Rom Drives have disapeared in windows, They show up fine in bios
but not windows. they show up with yellow icon in device manager, and
won't update drivers. Please help!

Hi,

There is a file here that will fix this:
http://aumha.org/downloads/cdgone.zip

Download and unzip it, then right click the .reg file and allow it to merge
with your registry. It should only take a moment, then reboot your machine.

I think that's the one for if it doesn't show up in Device Manager. There may
be a device conflict with the interrupt request (IRQ) because I can't see it
being a driver problem.

This may be a case of Upper & Lower Filter drivers. Many burning
applications such as Roxio Easy CD add these "hooks" into the driver
table to handle burning operations. Do a web search for CD Filter
drivers, you'll likely get more than a few useful links.

Hi,

That fix is for when the drive is not detected by Windows (doesn't show in
Windows Explorer). In DM, it could show as not loaded, as a problem device,
or not at all depending on what precisely is corrupted.
