Help!! Boot to Safe Mode

Hi All,

I have a problem simular to the one stated in this MSKB Article Q265829.
This means that I might be able to fix this problem ( Add/Remove Programs
will not start) by booting in to safe mode. The problem is, this is a NAS
server. There is no option to install a KB or anythy other peripherall.
The Dell techs say that I need to format and reload. I don't want to
format and reload the whole system for what should be such a simple fix.

Instead of forcing every respondent to look up your KB article, would
you care to summarise it in your post? Doing so would give us a
rough idea if your problem falls without our general area of expertise
or not.
